Tomesha Faxio is a self-taught documentary photographer dedicated to portraying and centering the Black experience. She specializes in portraits of Black women and women of color, wielding photography to reject Eurocentric beauty standards. Tomesha strives to tell authentic stories that both inform and inspire. Before becoming a photographer, Tomesha was a lawyer. She is a graduate of Spelman College (B.A., Psychology) and Vanderbilt University (J.D., Law), and now lives with her husband and two daughters in Atlanta, Georgia.
